Uchithanai Muharnthal Review
The movie is about struggles of a 13 year old girl who suffered at the hands of the island army. Sathyaraj, Seeman and Sangeetha are the lead actors in the film with music by D.Imman. Director Pughazhendhi Thangaraj earlier made 'Kattrukenna Veli' on a similar sensitive topic. Here is a review from one of our visitors:
I was expecting a high-class film based on good songs and story. But, disappointed after watching the film. There are too many flaws in the narration that mar the impact. Overall Rating is 2.5/5
Positives
- Natural acting performances by all actors involved especially Sathyaraj, Sangeetha and the child artist Neenika.
- Sensitive Story.
- Soul-stirring songs and Background music.
- Not too many illogical sequences as present in commercial cinema of today.
- Realistic and poignant at most levels(as it is inspired by a true story).
- Climax.
Negatives
- Too many melodramatic or emotional moments. The focus of the film gets affected.
- Screenplay is weak in the second half.
- Lengthy first half.
- Slow pace overall.
- Poor picturisation of the soul-stirring "Irrupai thamizha" song.
- Film narration is inconsistent. It is engaging at some points and fails in many other scenes.
