Mani Ratnam Aishwariya Nagarjuna film dropped?

The highly anticipated Mani Ratnam film that was to star Mahesh Babu with Nagarjuna, has been dropped. The news has been confirmed by Nagarjuna himself. The actor said, "Mani Ratnam had narrated a story to me and Mahesh Babu. But after some days, he called me and said the project is cancelled”

The bilingual project had stirred a lot of expectations ever since its announcement. The ace director managed to pull of a casting coup of sorts by roping in Mahesh, Nagarjuna, Aishwariya Rai and Shruthi Haasan. The buzz was high as Aishwariya Rai was set to make a comeback after a self-imposed sabbatical. The project was supposed to take off in July.

While the exact reason is not known, grapevine is that the lead actors Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna seemed to have some issues with the script. Mahesh Babu who had some reservations over the final script had opted out of the project first. Nagarjuna followed suit stating the same reason. Also Mahesh Babu is said to have adjusted that dates to another film.

However there is no official word from the ace director on the project being dropped.
