Dhanush kickstarts Balki's film

Dhanush kickstarts Balki's film

Dhanush who made a notable debut in Bollywood with Anand L Rai's "Raanjhnaa" has started shooting for his second Hindi film. The Maryan actor tweeted, "First day shoot of my second Hindi film. Excited and thrilled." 

Amitabh Bachchan plays a key role along side Dhanush. Kamal's younger daughter Akshara Haasan makes her debut in Hindi with this film. The film is directed by R. Balki who had earlier directed Cheeni Kum and Paa. The film will have cinematography by PC Sreeram and music by Ilayaraja.

Lakshmi Ramakrishanan ropes in Piaa Bajpai

Lakshmi Ramakrishnan who made her directorial debut with Aarohanam is all set to begin work on her next film. Pia Bajpai of Ko and Goa fame plays the leading lady. Sruthi Hariharan, heroine of Kannad film 'Lucia" will be playing a very interesting character in the film. The untitled project will go on floors in March. 

The film deals with an incident that happens on a day during petrol crisis.  Thambi Ramaiah, Y. G Mahendran and A.L Alagappan are also part of the cast. Cinematography by Balajee Rangha of “Onaayum Aattukuttiyum” fame. Editing by Sabu and music by Madley Blues. The film will be produced by AVA Productions. 

Srikanth's Nambiar censored

Nambiar is a sci-fi comedy film directed by debutante Ganeshaa, who was an associate to S. S. Rajamouli. It stars Srikanth, Santhanam and Sunaina in the lead roles. It is produced by Srikanth's home production "Golden Friday Films". Music by Vijay Antony. The film has been censored with an U/A certificate. It is set to hit the screens in March.

Will Vijay do it for Anirudh?

The shooting of Vijay AR Murugadoss film kickstarted in Kolkata on February 3. Samantha plays the female lead opposite Vijay. The Jilla actor is reportedly playing a dual role. Anirudh who is scoring the music has already began work on the film. Fans are eagerly awaiting to hear Vijay's voice in Anirudh's score. The tracks sung by Vijay in his recent films Thuppakki, Thalaivaa and Jilla have been instant hits. Anirudh is now contemplating on making Vijay sing a song in the film.

The Punch Song from Aaha Kalyanam

Bollywood top production house Yash Raj Films (YRF) is foraying into South film industry with Aaha Kalyanam starring Nani of 'Naan Ee' fame and Vani Kapoor in the lead roles. It is a remake of YRF's Bollywood hit, Band Bajaa Baarat which released in 2010.

Aaha Kalyanam is a musical romantic comedy film being made in Tamil and Telugu. It is directed by newcomer Gokul. Dharan Kumar has scored the music. The film is likely to hit the screens on February 21.
