Mani Ratnam's untitled next has begun filming at the iconic Howrah Bridge in Kolkata, with photos and videos from the set showing Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi in conversation with the director between takes.

The visuals hint at the film being a romantic drama — a genre Mani Ratnam is deeply associated with, having delivered classics like Pallavi Anu Pallavi, Mouna Ragam, Alai Paayuthey and O Kadal Kanmani across his career. The project reunites him with Vijay Sethupathi after Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and marks his first collaboration with Sai Pallavi.

AR Rahman composes the music in what will be his 20th collaboration with the director. The film is produced by Mani Ratnam under Madras Talkies and Subaskaran under Lyca Productions.
