Vijay's Jana Nayagan Has a Special Surprise Ending - A Dance Sequence Fans Won't See Coming

PUBLISHED DATE | 23/Jul/2026

Jana Nayagan, Vijay's final film before his retirement from cinema, releases on July 23 — and the makers have prepared a special surprise for fans in theatres. Producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions has revealed that a dance sequence was shot on the very last day of filming, compiling many of Vijay's iconic signature moves from across his career.

Speaking on KVN Productions' YouTube channel, the producer said the sequence — lasting just a minute and a half — was shot in a single take and has been deliberately kept out of the song videos released so far. "People who love his dances, it is a compilation of all his signature movements. It has come out really really well," he said, adding that he personally ensured he was present on set that day. "I wanted to be there when they filmed it because it was the last day of shoot," he revealed.

The producer also shared an interesting detail about the film's structure: "The entire movie started with Kacheri and ended with it as well," he said.

The sequence, referred to as the 'Last Dance' — a term popularised by Michael Jordan's documentary of the same name — is being saved as a surprise element for theatre audiences, intended to turn the screening of Vijay's swansong into a true celebration.
