Vishnu Vishal hit back at social media criticism during a recent interview with RedNool, responding to a viral post that accused him of crying in every promotional interview and praising films that go on to get bashed.
The actor challenged the claim directly. "How many of my recent movies have been bashed?" he asked, pointing out that only two of his recent films had received negative responses — Lal Salaam, where he said things were not in his hands and the output was not what he had signed up for, and Aaryan, for which he took ownership. "For Aaryan, I own up to what people didn't like. But it was only the climax that didn't work. Many liked the story," he said, adding that his mistake was making it in a way audiences couldn't fully grasp.
He also pushed back against Oho Enthan Baby being linked to his filmography, clarifying it was his brother Rudhra's debut film that he produced out of belief in a young team. Drawing a larger point about the current climate of social media scrutiny, he noted, "We are in that era where even Rajini sir has to say 'I have nothing against Vijay' when he stays silent for four days. It's so painful to see this."
Gatta Kusthi 2, his upcoming sequel with Aishwarya Lekshmi, releases on July 3.
