Ahead of Blast's release this Thursday, actor Arjun Sarja had nothing but admiration for co-star Preity Mukhundhan at the film's pre-release event. Recalling her gruelling schedule on set, Arjun said her portions would often stretch till 2 AM while he had long wrapped up for the day. "I myself feel pity for her," he said warmly, before adding that her fighting skills on screen had him genuinely wondering if she would overtake him. "But let her. I felt very nice. She is hard-working and dedicated."

Moved by his words, Preity responded on Instagram, writing that growing up watching Arjun, she knew exactly how much weight his praise carried. She described him as someone who carries himself with grace, discipline, and dignity, and thanked him for his warmth throughout the shoot.

Directed by debutant Subash K Raj, Blast follows a family trained to protect the powerless who become the most dangerous obstacle of all. The film stars Arjun, Abhirami, and Preity in the lead, with Ravi Basrur marking his Tamil debut on music. It releases in theatres on May 28 and will premiere on Netflix following its theatrical run.
