Sivakarthikeyan is set to drop his first ever independent single Velum Mayilum today at 5 PM. The devotional track is composed and sung by Nivas K Prasanna, with lyrics penned by Sivakarthikeyan himself, and is conceived and directed by Sivakumar Murugesan — the filmmaker behind Thaai Kizhavi and the upcoming Seyon.

A promo released earlier shows a character walking through a group of women holding peacock feathers on either side, a visual that interestingly echoes the recently released Seyon poster featuring Bhagyashri Borse's character also holding a peacock feather, hinting at a thematic connection between the song and the upcoming film.

Sivakarthikeyan produces the single under his namesake banner. Seyon, produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International alongside R Mahendran, is targeting an October theatrical release.
