Dhanush and PS Mithran in Talks for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali Production?

Sardar director PS Mithran is reportedly in talks to helm a Bollywood film starring Dhanush, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali under Bhansali Productions. The project is said to be a jungle-set drama rooted in mythology — a distinct departure from what either collaborator has attempted before.

If confirmed, it would mark PS Mithran's Hindi debut — having previously helmed Irumbu Thirai, Hero, and Sardar in Tamil. Interestingly, the filmmaker was earlier attached to Bhansali Productions for Rowdy Rathore 2, which never took off.

For Dhanush, this would signal a bold new chapter in his Bollywood journey. His Hindi outings so far include Raanjhanaa, Atrangi Re, and the recent Tere Ishk Mein — all with director Aanand L Rai — and Shamitabh alongside Amitabh Bachchan. A Bhansali production would mark a significant genre and scale shift for the actor in Hindi cinema.

Dhanush's pipeline remains packed — D55 with Rajkumar Periasamy, a Mari Selvaraj reunion with AR Rahman on music, a film with Thamizharasan Pachamuthu, and biopics on Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam. His next immediate release is Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja, hitting screens on April 30.
