Director Vignesh Shivan has finally addressed why his much-anticipated collaboration with Ajith Kumar, which was initially planned as the actor’s 62nd film, did not take off.
In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that creative differences and budget constraints played a key role in the project being shelved. He explained that he prefers to stay true to his vision as a story-centric director and was not keen on making changes to the script he had developed over several years.
Vignesh noted that he typically spends years refining his scripts, adding that the one intended for Ajith was also worked on for three to four years. “I wanted to make the film the way I had envisioned it,” he said, pointing out that suggestions to alter the story did not align with his approach.
He also mentioned that budget-related concerns further complicated matters, eventually leading to the project being dropped.
The filmmaker, who has directed films like Naanum Rowdy Dhan and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, is currently awaiting the response to his latest release Love Insurance Kompany (LIK).
