Actor-director SJ Suryah revealed that the story of Lubber Pandhu was initially narrated to him by director Tamilarasan Pachamuthu.

Speaking at a recent event, SJ Suryah shared that he had asked for changes to the script more than once, and the director reworked it accordingly. “After a point, I told him not to make any further changes as it might spoil the script,” he said.

He also added that he suggested the role be done by another actor, referring to the character eventually played by Attakathi Dinesh. The film later went on to become a major success.
