Vijay's Perambur Nomination Accepted Ahead of TN Elections

PUBLISHED DATE | 07/Apr/2026

Actor-politician Vijay’s nomination for the Perambur constituency has been officially accepted ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The scrutiny process concluded on Tuesday, a day after the deadline for filing nominations on April 6.

Vijay, who is contesting under his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is also in the fray from Tiruchirappalli East. However, there is no official update yet on the status of his nomination from that constituency.

In Perambur, a total of 40 candidates have filed nominations, including several individuals with similar names such as “Vijay” and “Joseph.” This has led to speculation about possible attempts to create confusion among voters.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 23.

On the film front, Vijay is awaiting the release of Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, which is currently under scrutiny amid reports of possible Election Commission review.
