Karuppu, starring Suriya, is all set to hit theatres on May 14, the makers have confirmed. Written and directed by RJ Balaji in his first solo directorial venture, the film is billed as a commercial entertainer. It was initially planned for a Pongal 2026 release but was later postponed.

The teaser revealed that Suriya will be playing a lawyer named Saravanan, a nod to his real name, while further plot details remain under wraps.  The film features a strong ensemble cast including Trisha, Indrans, Natty, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy.

Music for the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, with cinematography by GK Vishnu and editing by R Kalaivanan. Karuppu is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures.
