At the pre-release event of Youth, actor Karunas revealed that he will be sharing screen space with Dhanush once again in the upcoming film Kara, marking their reunion after 16 years.

Karunaas said that among the films he has worked on, Dhanush had been the lead in many of them. However, the duo had not collaborated in over a decade and a half since projects like Polladhavan, directed by Vetrimaaran.

The actor also joked about their reunion, saying that if Dhanush wins an award for Kara, he should receive one as well, adding humorously that the central government should not avoid honouring him because he criticises the BJP.

Directed by Vignesh Raja, Kara features a large ensemble cast including Mamitha Baiju, K. S. Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, M. S. Bhaskar, and Sreeja Ravi. Music for the film is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who has also worked on Youth.
