Harris Jayaraj says strong storytelling matters more than stars at Kadhal Reset Repeat event

At the pre-release event of Kadhal Reset Repeat, composer Harris Jayaraj reflected on how belief and story structure play a crucial role in shaping a successful film.

Recalling his early journey, Harris spoke about collaborating with director Gautham Vasudev Menon on Minnale, noting that the film largely featured newcomers, including R. Madhavan and Reema Sen. He said the experience taught him that once a strong story structure is in place, a film does not rely on star power, as it naturally brings out the best in everyone involved.

He added that even big artists and technicians cannot elevate a weak script, emphasising that belief and positivity during filmmaking help unite teams and draw audiences to theatres. Harris also shared that he has introduced 64 new singers so far, with Gayathri Raja becoming the 65th through this film, continuing his effort to promote fresh talent.

For Kadhal Reset Repeat, he revealed that the music was developed alongside the writing process, with director A. L. Vijay shaping the story with music in mind. Starring Madumkesh, Jiya Shankar and Arjun Ashokan, the film is set to release in theatres on March 6.
