PUBLISHED DATE | 24/Jan/2026

The long-delayed Hindi film Hum Mein Shahehshah Koun, starring Rajinikanth, Shatrughan Sinha, and Hema Malini, is finally set to hit theatres after remaining unreleased for 37 years.

Produced by Raja Roy and shot in 1989, the film also features Anita Raj, Prem Chopra, the late Jagdeep, and Amrish Puri. Despite completing principal photography decades ago, a series of personal setbacks and the passing of director Harmesh Malhotra stalled the project.

The film has now been completed using modern technology, with AI-assisted visual enhancement and audio mastering to ensure continuity while retaining the original performances. All legal clearances and permissions have been secured.

Shatrughan Sinha has expressed support for the release and is open to promotions, while discussions are underway with Rajinikanth regarding promotional activities in the South. With its revival, Hum Mein Shahehshah Koun marks a rare cinematic moment, bringing a forgotten film back to the big screen
