Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has scripted history in Malaysia even before its theatrical release, registering one of the fastest and biggest advance booking responses ever for an Indian film in the territory. Within just the first 2 hours of advance bookings, 55,000 Jana Nayagan tickets sold in Malaysia, marking the fastest 50K ticket sales for an Indian film in Malaysia. 

Reports indicate that 43,000 tickets were sold in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, showcasing an explosive demand for actor Vijay's last film. TGV Cinemas, distributor of Jana Nayagan in Malaysia has added to the buzz by updating their booking platform using Vijay's face icon as 'sold-out' indicators. This visual cue for filled Jana Nayagan shows, quickly went viral on social media.

Jana Nayagan, an official remake of the National Award winning Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari (2023), is directed by H Vinoth and releases on January 9, 2026 in theaters worldwide. A KVN Productions venture, the movie also starring Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Gautham Menon, Priya Mani, Prakash Raj, Sunil, among others, has Anirudh Ravichander for music, and is currently awaiting to clear censor.
