Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly listened to a narration from National award winning Telugu filmmaker Nag Ashwin of Kalki 2898 AD (2024), and Mahanati (2018) fame. After the star-studded mythological sci-fi drama Kalki 2898 AD which boasted of names like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan in its ensemble, Nag Ashwin was supposed to direct a sequel to it. 

The Telugu film director was also reported in between to be scripting a heroine-centric story for Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt. However latest buzz on the block is that C. Aswini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies who produced both Mahanati and Kalki 2898 AD, and shares a great rapport with Rajinikanth arranged for his son-in-law Nag Ashwin to meet up with the Superstar. 

Rajinikanth is said to have like Nag Ashwin's idea for the film, and has asked the Telugu filmmaker to come up with the script. If the Rajini-Nag Ashwin team-up materializes, Vyjayanthi Movies will once again be producing the movie.
