8 months after Tamil star actor Vijay announced his foray into electoral politics with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in February 2024, TVK held its first state-level conference at Vikravandi in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu on October 27, 2024. Now TVK's second state conference is all set to be held at Madurai, beginning 5 PM on August 21, 2025.  

The TVK conference venue where seating arrangement for over 1.5 lakh was made, has already filled up with people showing up since Thursday morning. Vijay is scheduled to address the cadres on a 300-metre-long ramp constructed in the middle of the venue.

Hundreds of bouncers have been deployed on both sides of the ramp to keep the cadres at bay. Doctors and nurses have set up a medical at the venue to counter any emergencies. Private schools, and colleges in Eliyarpathi, Valaiyangulam, and Kariyapatti areas have declared a holiday in lieu of traffic and crowds from this TVK conference. The Madurai district police plans to deploy around 2,700 personnel drawn from the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu to provide security for the conference.
