Vijay's Character Name in Jana Nayagan Revealed as "Thalapathy Vettri Kondan"- Tattoo Sparks Buzz Among Fans

In a major revelation that has thrilled fans of Tamil cinema, it has been confirmed that Thalapathy Vijay’s character in the much-awaited film Jana Nayagan is named “Thalapathy Vettri Kondan”.

Adding to the excitement, Vijay’s character will be seen sporting a stylish tattoo on his hand with the initials “TVK”, a design that is already generating a lot of discussion online. The initials not only stand for his character’s name but also carry a deeper political significance, reflecting Vijay’s real-life political ambitions through “Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam” (TVK) — the political party he launched earlier this year.

#JanaNayagan is particularly significant as it marks Vijay’s final film before stepping fully into his political career. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival, a prime time for blockbuster releases.

The film is produced by KVN Productions and marks the first-ever collaboration between Vijay and acclaimed director H. Vinoth, who has both written and directed the project. Music is By Anirudh Ravichander.

JanaNayagan is reportedly the official Tamil adaptation of the 2023 Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
