Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan among others, released in theaters on June 27, 2024 [Thursday], and Vyjayanthi Movies, the production banner behind the movie, has unveiled Kalki 2898 AD's day 1 box-office. 

Golbally, Kalki 2898 AD has collected Rs. 191.5 Cr. on day 1. The Nag Ashwin directed film is out in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages in 2D, 3D and Imax formats. 

A sci-fi action with Hindu mythological references, Kalki 2898 AD centers around the birth of Kalki, Lord Vishnu's tenth and final avatar in a dystopian world. The movie begins in 3102 BC where Lord Vishnu's eighth avatar Lord Krishna curses Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) for killing Uttara's (Malvika Nair) unborn child. 

Cut to 2898 AD, Sumathi (Deepika Padukone) is all set to give birth to Kalki in a world battling infertility, and a tyrannical evil force named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan). How Ashwatthama and his Kurukshetra war-friend Karna, incarnated as Bhairava (Prabhas) fight over Sumathi, unaware of their invisible string, is what forms the rest of the story.
