Netflix has now officially announced Leo OTT release date as November 24, 2023 [Friday] in India and November 28, 2024 [Tuesday] globally outside India. Leo, a Tamil action thriller starring Vijay, Trisha in the lead will be streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The movie is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is part of the filmmaker's LCU [Lokesh Cinematic Universe] franchise.

Inspired by A History of Violence (2005 Hollywood film based on 1997 graphic novel of the same title), Leo is set immediately after the events of Kaithi (2019), the first LCU movie. The movie revolves around Parthiban "Parthi" (Vijay) who is an animal rescuer, a café owner in Theog, Himachal Pradesh, living with his wife Sathya (Trisha) and two children (Matthew Thomas, Iyal).

How an unexpected turn of events bring him under the radar of deadly drug criminals and loosing him the trust of family, friends is what forms the rest of the story. Leo is a production venture of 7 Screen Studio and comes with a runtime of 164 minutes.
The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Madonna Sebastain, George Maryan (reprising his Kaithi character Napolean), Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Anurag Kashyap (cameo), Kamal Haasan (voice cameo as Vikram, another LCU lead) among others. Leo's technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Manoj Paramahansa for cinematography, Philomin Raj for edits and Anbariv for the stunts.
