Ever since Chinmayi Sripaada came out with her #MeToo story and inadvertantly became a social activist for the movement in India, the multi-faceted talent has completely lost out on work opportunities in the Tamil film industry. In November 2018, Chinmayi who is also a popular voice artist was expelled from Kollywood's dubbing union after she showed solidarity with two women who had accused actor Radha Ravi of sexual misconduct; Radha Ravi was the president of the union.
Ever since Chinmayi has been employed as a voice artist in just 2 Tamil feature films - Sivakarthikeyan starrer Hero (2019) directed by P.S. Mithran and produced by KJR Studios, and Thalli Pogathey directed and produced by R. Kannan.
I am a million times grateful to Mr Lokesh Kanagaraj and Mr Lalit for having taken this stand.

THAT. IS. MY. VOICE. IN. LEO. FOR. TRISHA.
And guess what? I have dubbed in Tamil, Telugu AND Kannada. #Badass https://t.co/x747eBCzU7
Vijay starrer Leo is Chinmayi's first big league Tamil movie in the last 5 years, and she took to her page on the X platform to express gratitude to director Lokesh Kanagaraj, and producer 7 Screen Studio post Leo's trailer release. Chinmayi had last dubbed for Trisha in the movie 96 (2018) which had gone on to become a major hit.
