Sardar is an upcoming spy action thriller starring Karthi in dual roles of father and son. The movie is all set to release in theaters for Diwali on October 21 and latest official update is that a trailer for the film will be unveiled tomorrow i.e. October 14, 2022 [Friday].
Written by M.R. Pon Parthipan, Roju Bipin Ragu, Geevee and directed by PS Mithran, Sardar will see Karthi as an ex-raw field operative named Shakthi and also as Kathiravan IPS, Shakthi's son. Rajisha Vijayan is paired opposite the Shakthi character while Raashi Khanna as Kavya plays Kathiravan's love interest.

Actress Laila makes a comeback to the movies after 16 years with Sardar, and she plays a CBI intelligence officer named Mangai. Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey, Murali Sharma, Sahana Vasudevan, Yugi Sethu, Myna Nandini, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu and master Rithvik co-star.
Sardar is produced by Prince Pictures and has GV Prakash for music. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is presenting the U/A censored movie, which has so far had a teaser and a single titled Yaerumayileri out. The movie's audio, OTT and satellite rights are with Sony Music South, Aha Tamil and Kalaignar TV respectively.
