Observing National Cinema Day on September 23, around 4000 screens in the Hindi-speaking zones of India had sold tickets at a mere cost of Rs. 75, as opposed to their average staring price of Rs. 150+. This resulted in the day recording the highest footfalls for the year 2022 with a record number of 6.5 million plus cinegoers. Bollywood movie makers encouraged by this are now opting in for discounted ticket prices on their own accord.

Makers of atleast two recent Hindi movie releases namely Goodbye (Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, Neena Gupta) and Vikram Vedha (Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan) have announced a drop in their film's ticket prices. While Rashmika tweeted about Goodbye tickets being sold for Rs. 80 today i.e. October 12, 2022, Reliance Entertainment tweeted about Vikram Vedha tickets being sold for Rs. 100+ taxes at select movie screens.
