Director, producer, TV host, judge and Bollywood's most recognized name Karan Johar announced in a tweet today that he his bidding adieu to the microblogging site after 13 years on the platform. Karan Johar's verified account boasted of 17.2 million followers at the time of this social media goodbye. 

The 50 year old filmmaker alluded this decision as a step 'towards positive energies'. Karan Johar has been vocal about Twitter slander he receives on a day to day basis because of his sexual orientation, effeminacy, movie subjects among other things. 

He most recently said on his Disney Plus Hostar show Koffee With Karan that while he has developed a thick skin towards trolls over the years, his therapist had informed him that contrary to what he believes, he has been toxically masking his true emotions. Karan also stated that it truly gets to him when the trolls come for his very young kids or family, and that is where he draws the line.
