It was officially confirmed at midnight that Indian 2, director Shankar and Kamal Haasan's highly anticipated sequel has resumed shooting after months of being on hold. Actor Kamal Haasan revealed that he will be joining the sets from September, 2022.

This revamped Indian 2 has Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies joining Lyca Productions as the producers on the project. Actress Kajal Aggarwal is still part of Indian 2 whereas Guru Somasundaram has been roped in as a replacement for late actor Vivekh. 

Indian 2 also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, Manobala, Akhilendra Mishra, N Kalyani among others. The technical crew of this film includes Anirudh for music, Ravi Varman for cinematography, Sreekar Prasad for edits, T Muthuraj for production design, Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, Lakshmi Saravanakumar for dialogues, Ramazan Bulut, Peter Hein, Anl Arasu for stunts, Pa Vijay, Thamarai, Vivek for lyrics and Bosco for dance choreography.
