Karthi and Catherine Tresa play the lead role in Attakathi Ranjith's next movie, tentatively titled Kaali. The film shooting is currently in progress. The film is set in the backdrop of North Madras. The new title of the film is expected to be revealed soon. The film is produced by Studio Green.

Karthi is eagerly awaiting the release of 'All in All Azhagu Raja' which is slated for release on November 2.

Priya Anand wraps Italy schedule

Priya Anand was in Italy shooting for Irumbu Kuthirai. Atharva and Priya Anand who play the lead roles are part of the schedule. Priya Anand who has wrapped her portions in Italy has returned to Chennai. Atharva is still continuing his shoot in Italy. Few songs and important scenes are being canned. Priya Anand has also performed some stunts in the film. The film is directed by Yuvaraj and produced by AGS Entertainments. Music by GV Prakash.

Rama Narayanan acquires Arrambam

Arrambam starring Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee directed by Vishnuvaradhan is one of the most awaited films which is slated for Diwali release. It is set to hit the screens on October 31 and has been censored with a clean 'U' certificate.

The latest we hear is that Rama Narayanan's 'Thenandal Films' has acquired the Chengalpet rights from Ayngaran International. Ayngaran which holds the distribution rights of NSC area (North Arcot-South Arcot-Chengalpet) has sold Chengalpet area distribution rights to Rama Narayanan for a whopping amount.

UTV's first production in Telugu with Mahesh Babu

UTV Motion Pictures has announced its first production in Telugu with superstar Mahesh Babu. The film will be written and directed by Koratala Siva and will go on the floors in July 2014. The project will be presented in association with Indira Productions. The lead heroine, other artistes and technicians for the film are yet to be finalized. 

We are extremely delighted to commence our journey in the Telugu film industry, which is the second biggest industry in India after Hindi films, with our own production starring superstar Mahesh Babu” G. Dhananjayan, chief, South Business – Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.

“We believe in the power of great storytelling and have proven the same in the south with our Malayalam and Tamil slate. Now we venture into Telugu cinema with a story which will appeal to all types of audiences and are gearing up to produce the film on the large scale it deserves,” he added.

Nasser is done with Kaaviya Thalaivan

The shooting of Kaaviya Thalaivan' starring Siddharth, Prithviraj, Vedhika, Nasser and Anaika Soti directed by Vasantha Balan is progressing at a brisk pace. Nasser who plays an important role in the film has wrapped his portions. Siddarth who plays the lead role has tweeted, "Naaser sir’s performance in ‘Kaaviyathalaivan’ is special. He wrapped his portions tonight. Will miss him on set. Learnt so much from him."

'Kaaviya Thalaivan' is a period film which is based upon the real life love story of KB Sundrambal and Kittappa. Music by A.R Rahman. The film is produced by Sashikanth of Y Not Studios.
