GV Prakash is all set to play the lead role in a new film titled 'Pencil' to be directed by Mani Nagaraj, a former associate of Gautham Menon. While Priya Anand was earlier approached to play the female lead, Sri Divya of Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam fame has bagged the role.

GV Prakash will be scoring the music for the film as well. He will be seen as a school student who is studying in 12th standard. The film will start rolling from next month.

Soori in Siva Karthikeyan's Maan Karate

Actor Soori has been roped in to provide the comic relief in Maan Karate. Siva Karthikeyan and Hansika play the lead roles. The film is directed by Thirukumaran, former associate of A. R. Murugadoss. Siva Karthikeyan and Soori who have worked together in Manam Kothi Paravai, Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam are teaming up again for Maan Karate. He will be called as Tiger Tyson in the film.

The film is produced by Escape Artist Motion Pictures and has music by Anirudh. The film shooting is currently in progress. Story and screenplay by AR Murugadoss.

Sutta Kathai release advanced

Sutta Kathai is a dark comedy directed by debutant Subu starring Balaji Venugopal, Venkatesh Harinathan and 'Dharma Yudham' fame Lakshmi Priya in the lead roles. The film was slated for release on October 25. The film release has been advanced by a day and it will hit the screens on October 24. Sutta Kadhai will release in Auro 3D sound platform. Music is by Madley Blues (Prasanth and Harish). The film is produced by Libra Productions.

Arrambam starring Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu directed by Vishnuvaradhan is one of the most awaited films this year. The film slated for Diwali release is set to hit the screens on October 31. The post production work of the film has been wrapped. The film will be facing the censor tomorrow. Yuvan has scored the music.
