After starring together in Nerukku Ner (1997) and Friends (2001), actors Suriya and Vijay never shared screen space again, but have gone on to establish themselves as individual stars in their own right. Despite maintaining a cordial relationship over the years, fans were surprised to learn that the two recently met and talked at a common shooting place.

Vijay is currently shooting for Beast and Suriya recently wrapped Etharkkum Thinindhavan (ET), and both films are produced by Sun Pictures. A recent schedule of Beast and ET at Chennai brought Vijay and Suriya at the same place for filming and reportedly Vijay decided to drop by Suriya's sets.

Suriya is said to have welcomed Vijay with a bouquet and there are also reports of directors Nelson Dhilipkumar and Pandiraj being present.
