Venkat Prabhu signs his next

Venkat Prabhu's upcoming film Biriyani starring Karthi, Hansika and Premgi Amaren is slated for Pongal 2014 release. If sources are to be believed, Venkat Prabhu has signed his next film with Madhan of Escape Artists Motion Pictures. The film will star newcomers and will start rolling in November. However an official confirmation is awaited.

Mumbai Model for Santhanam

Santhanam plays the lead role in 'Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham' directed by Srinath. Mumbai based model Ashna Zaveri has been roped in to play the female lead. Music by Santhosh Narayanan. The film is a remake of SS Rajamouli's Telugu Blockbuster 'Maryada Ramanna'. PVP Cinemas has acquired the remake rights of the film. Santhanam has made a deal with PVP to produce the film under his banner Handmade Films on a first copy basis.

Shankar and AR Rahman like Vijay Sethupathi's song

Shankar and AR Rahman are working together for Ai starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. Lyricist Madhan Karky who is penning the lyrics has tweeted, "Recorded my third song for Ai recently. Was happy to hear from Rahman sir and Shankar sir that they found Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara's Prayer Song interesting."

Madhan Karky had penned the lyrics for the Prayer song which is a breakup song, where the guy blames the girl for the relationship falling apart. IABK starring Vijay Sethupathi, Ashwin, Nandita and Swathi is directed by Gokul. The film is set to hit the screens on October 2.

Oviya dubs in Tamil for first time

Newcomer Kathir and Oviya play the lead roles in G. V. Prakash's  maiden production venture 'Madha Yaanai Koottam'. The movie is directed by Vikram Sukumaran and music is by Raghunanthan. Oviya has dubbed in Tamil, for the first time in this film. The audio of the film will be out soon. The film is likely to release in October. MYK is produced by GV Prakash Kumar Productions.
