Actor Karthi has completed one schedule of Sardar and has Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan in the pipeline. The actor will next begin filming for his untitled project with Komban director M. Muthaiah, and latest is that Soorarai Pottru actress Aparna Balamurali will play female lead.

The movie is a production venture of Suriya's 2D Entertainment and filming of this rural entertainer is expected to begin from October, 2021.
