Last year, word of Karthi teaming up with his Komban director Muthaiah surfaced for the first time and now it is being said that the movie will go on floors post Karthi's upcoming release Sulthan. Sulthan is gearing up for a release on April 2, 2021 and other than Ponniyin Selvan Karthi has no other active line-up.

His film with Muthaiah is expected to begin in May or June this year. Another rural mass entertainer like Komban, this new project will be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment.
