Mohanlal's long-anticipated magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham was supposed to release on March 26, 2020 but now will release on the same date this year. The makers have officially announced that the movie co-written and directed by Priyadarshan will hit theater screens on March 26, 2021. 

Mohanlal essays the role of Kunjali Marakkar, the Muslim naval chief of the Samoothri Raja Manavikraman, a Hindu king of Kozhikode in 16th century Kerala.

The period drama also stars Pranav Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Keerthy Suresh, Suneil Shetty, Arjun, Madhu, Prabhu, Siddique and Nedumudi Venu in pivotal roles.
