Idli Memes make a comeback after Brit Edward Anderson calls Idly Boring!

PUBLISHED DATE | 12/Oct/2020

Last week, UK lecturer Edward Anderson raked up a Twitter storm after he quote tweeted Zomato India's innocent question with a "Idlis are the most boring things in the world" statement. The Brit who is married to a Malayali was taken for a ride on social media who took his statement to the heart, so much so that even Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, a South Indian himself tweeted his 2 cents, turning the incident into a national debate.

Since the topic seems in no mood of dying even after Anderson, who is the son-in-law of Malayalam cinematographer-director Venu and editor Bina Paul explained his experience around the food item, the 'Idli Memes' are making a comeback as an assertion for South Indian's love for the food item.

“I spend quite a lot of time in South India, and I’m frequently served idlis. I have no traumatic experience around it but in my opinion they seem extremely bland and, unless straight out the steamer, can have a fairly unpleasant texture. I do love the sambar and chutney though,”
