Goundamani back in action with 49O

Goundamani back in action with 49O

Goundamani has been off Kollywood's radar for quite some time. The comedy king who is making a comeback with 'Vaimai' is said to have signed a new film titled '490'. Goundamani will be playing the lead role in the film as a farmer. 49O will be directed by Arokiadoss, a former assistant of Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film touted to be a political comedy will also address the issues faced by present-day farmers. 

Somasundaram (of Aaranya Kaandam fame), Sathyan and VTV Ganesh play supporting cast. KV Anand's assistant Balu will crank the camera. The film will start rolling by the end of this month. The shooting will take place in and around Thiruvannamalai.

Shankar to attend Raja Rani audio launch?

The audio and trailer of Raja Rani is set to be released on August 23 at Sathyam Cinemas. Raja Rani is directed by Atlee, a former assistant of director Shankar. Buzz is that director Shankar might attend the audio launch of his assistant's film. Arya, Nayanthara, Jai and Nazriya Nazim are part of the cast. GV Prakash has scored the music. Think Music has bagged the audio rights. Raja Rani is joinlty proudced by AR Murugadoss and Fox Star Studios.

Pandiraj's Moodar Koodam gears up for release

'Moodar Koodam' is a black comedy film directed by debutante Naveen, a former associate of director Pandiraj. The movie features newcomers in the lead roles alongside Oviya and Jayaprakash. The film is slated for release this month and the makers are planning to release the film on August 30. However an official confirmation is awaited soon. Music by Natarajan Sankaran. The movie is jointly produced by Pandiraj's 'Pasanga Productions' and White Shadows Productions.

Aadhav Kannadhasan’s 'Pon Maalai Pozhudhu' and Balaji's 'Sutta Kathai' are also slated for release on August 30.
