Kadhalukku Mariyadhai (Eros Now)
One of the first big hit romance films with intense emotions that has Vijay and Shalini in lead roles. This is one of the landmark films for the actor in the late 90’s that has a lot to offer for the family.

Vijay and Jyothika’s film directed by SJ Surya is the cat and mouse ‘Kadhal’ film that all the fans have adored for ages now! It never gets old and has some subtle yet amazing performances from both the lead actors. Stream it right away if you haven’t and enjoy this fantastic film.
Ghilli (Sun Nxt)
A film that ran for over 200 days in theatres and established Vijay as a proper mass hero. At that time, it was one of the first films to collect big and had an amazing chemistry between Vijay and Trisha apart from an intense rivalry between Thalapathy and Prakash Raj! A must watch for all cinema fans! Velu to the rescue!
Thirupaachi (Sun Nxt)
A follow up to Ghilli’s success, Thirupaachi was a mix of both rural and urban elements with the same combination of Vijay, Trisha and Prakash Raj. One of the most entertaining films with terrific action and dance for the mass fans!
Sachein (Amazon Prime Video)
Pokkiri (MX Player)
Vijay’s proper cop avatar comes in the form of Pokkiri where he is seen as both a gangster as well as a cop in hiding. The most entertaining remake with the Vijay-Asin chemistry on point and some amazing twists and turns for fans.
Nanban (Hotstar)
Thuppakki (Hotstar)
Rated as Vijay’s best film ever, Thuppakki by AR Murugadoss is a class film with mass moments and an amazing storyline, Even if you aren’t a Vijay fan you would agree this is one of the finest films till date. It gave Vijay the biggest leap as an actor in his career and increased his fan base across states! A must watch film with smart writing and extraordinary sequences.
Kaththi (Amazon Prime)
AR Murugadoss’ follow up with Thalapathy was another brilliant blockbuster that focussed on the importance of agriculture and water. Again a double action dhamakka and some excellent writing proved that the magic of this combination cannot go wrong! Be it Kathiresan or Jeevanandam, you will love the emotions and the mass.
Theri (Amazon Prime)
Atlee’s first film with his idol Thalapathy proved why a fan director can bring out proper entertainment for fellow fans. A cop saga with revenge, the father-daughter sentiments and some smart writing. Theri is a truly special film as it established Vijay’s first proper cop film and the chemistry between Thalapathy and Baby Nainika is pure.
Mersal (Netflix)
A follow up from this combination meant high expectation. But Mersal just blew away those who thought this was a one hit wonder. With the Vetrimaaran character touted to be Vijay’s best till date, this is a film with so much of scope for Vijay to showcase his talents. A must watch for commercial cinema fans as Atlee and Vijay strike gold! Aalaporaan Tamizhan by AR Rahman was viral and so was the film!
Bigil (Amazon Prime)
The last release of Thalapathy Vijay that saw him unite with director Atlee for the third time. With a lot of appreciation for Rayappan’s character and an important take on football, this film had quite some effort too. Though it was not the Mersal magic, it did have some nice moments in the latter half that would keep audiences entertained. Lets not forget AR Rahman’s Singapenney!
Master (Amazon Prime Video)
The latest offering from Vijay's blockbuster portfolio, Master addresses an important social topic (juvenile delinquency), rarely touched in Tamil cinema. Vijay is also seen sharing screen space with another star-actor Vijay Sethupathi making it a double bonanza for viewers.
