Recently, an old poster from a dropped film of Dhanush resurfaced on the internet, making fans go crazy over whether or not it was a hint at revival. A certain amount of curiosity and pining usually comes with star actor's ambitious dropped projects, wishing it were completed and the same sentiment was accorded to this resurfaced poster as well. This, in turn, prompted us to list the films of Dhanush which for some unforeseen circumstances were shelved and the actor's audience would have enjoyed had they seen the light of the day.

1. Thesiya Nedunchaalai

Thesiya Nedunchaalai was supposed to be the first film of director Vetrimaaran. However, the project was dropped and the Dhanush-Vetri combo debuted with Polladhavan. Thesiya Nedunchaalai was later revived by directed by Vetrimaaran's assistant as Udhayam NH4 with Siddharth in lead.

2. Thirudan Police

Aravind Krishna, the popular cinematographer was to enter the direction department with Thirduan police. The project was shelved after photoshoot and announcement.

3. Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam

Selvaraghavan had shot a large number of portions with Dhanush and Andrea for Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam but the project was shelved midway for unknown reasons. Another Selvaraghavan directorial, Irandam Ulagam which released later in 2013 is believed to have revived the story for there were striking resemblances between making scenes and stills of both films.

4. Sudhaadi

Vetrimaran collaborated with Dhanush and Parthiban for Sudhaadi and they had also roped Meenakshi and Lakshmi Menon for the film. The film was dropped after 5 days of shoot with Parthiban.

5. Doctors

The posters of Dhanush with Sonia Agarwal for Doctors had been released in every magazine at the time of the film's announcement. Nothing much materialized though as opposed to the hype and eventually the project was taken to be shelved after Selvaraghavan moved to another film's shooting.

6. Kasimedu

Another Selvaraghavan film, supposed to be produced by Ghajini producer Salem A Chandrasekhar, this project was in news for a long time, but a financial crisis is said to have caused a forever halt. Ajith, Bharath, and Dhanush was chosen at the time to play main leads.
