Before Coronavirus was declared a pandemic, Sivakarthikeyan's ambitious sci-fi movie Ayalaan had wrapped 75% of its shooting and now that Kollywood is slowly getting back on track, it is estimated that the movie will release during Summer (June-September) next year. Interestingly Summer, 2021 also happens to be the time when S.S. Rajamouli's epic drama RRR is now expected to release (previously scheduled to hit theater screens in January, 2021) due to the production delay caused by COVID-19 lock-down.

While Ayalaan's new release plans have more or less been confirmed by industry trackers, an official confirmation on RRR which stars Ram Charan, Tarak, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn is still awaited.

Ayalaan produced by 24 AM Studios has Ravikumar for direction, A.R. Rahman for music, Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady and KJR Studios as the distribution partner. RRR on the other hand is produced by DVV Entertainment with M.M. Keeravani for music.
