In his bit to aid the fight against the outbreak of novel coronavirus COVID-19, actor-director Bharathiraja has donated essentials such as gloves, masks and sanitizers to people in the service industry i.e. corporation staff, police officials and paramedics. In an official statement towards this gesture, Bharathi Raja has said,

"In this hour of unprecedented crisis, due to corona virus, our TN Govt has done a commendable job to effectively contain the spread. As a token of gratitude, I have contributed masks, gloves and hand sanitizers to the Policemen, corporation staffs and paramedics ."

It is worth mentioning here that as of April 1, 2020 (Wednesday), Tamil Nadu’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 234, a 110 of these added from the recent tests conducted on people who attended the Tablighi Jamaat conference at Nizamuddin in Delhi.
