Indian 2, Kamal Haasan's only active project as of now is to begin a schedule in February, 2020 at Chennai and actors Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Kajal Aggarwal are expected to be a part of this schedule. The shooting is expected to begin from EVP film city at Chennai and go on for a period of 35 days.

Buzz also has it that Indian 2, directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions can be expected to release for Pongal next year i.e. Pongal 2021. Given the political subject of the film and the January release before the Assembly elections in April, Indian 2 might end up serving as a political boost for Haasan.

A sequel to Shankar's 1996 hit film, Indian 2 will see the return of Senapathy - one of Haasan's iconic characters and Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen reprising Suganya's role. The film has Anirudh for music.
