The teaser of the most-anticipated magnum opus 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' starring Mohanlal in the titular role has been released by the makers. Mohanlal shared the teaser on his Twitter page. Directed by Priyadarshan, Mohanlal essays the role of Kunjali Marakkar, the naval chief of the Zamorin of Calicut. The period drama is set to hit the screens on March 26.

Kunjali Marakkar was the Muslim naval chief of the Samoothri Raja Manavikraman, a Hindu king of Kozhikode in 16th century Kerala. The Marakkars are credited with organizing the first naval defense of the Indian coast.

Marakkar is written by Priyadarshan and Ani IV Sasi. The film will release simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It also features Sunil Shetty, Arjun, Madhu, Prabhu, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles. Pranav Mohanlal will be seen playing the younger version of Kunjali Marakkar.
