AR Rahman opts out of Hollywood film

AR Rahman opts out of Hollywood film

A.R. Rahman and Finnish composer Tuomas Kantelinen were roped in to the score the music for a fantasy action adventure film 'The Seventh Son'. The film is directed by Sergei Bodrov and stars Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Olivia Williams and Djimon Hounsou. AR Rahman has opted out of the project due to schedule incompatibility. He had tweeted, "Due to schedule incompatibility, I will not be scoring the Hollywood movie "Seventh Son " All other movies are on in full swing!"

His upcoming projects in Tamil include Shankar's 'I', Suriya's 'Dhruva Natchathiram', Siddharth's 'Kaaviya Thalaivan' and Superstar's 'Kochadaiyaan'. Dhanush's 'Mariyaan' is set to hit the screens on June 19.

GV Prakash's production venture wrapped

'Madha Yaanai Koottam' marks G. V. Prakash Kumar's maiden production venture. Kathir and Oviya play the lead roles in the film. The movie is directed by Vikram Sukumaran and music is by Raghunanthan. The film shooting has been wrapped and the post production work is currently in progress.

Siva Karthikeyan's next film titled Swapna Sundari

Siva Karthiekyan will be teaming up with director Bhoopathy Pandian for a film to be produced by Lingusamy’s Thirrupathi Brothers. The film we hear has been titled Swapna Sundari. Swapna Sundari is touted to be a family entertainer. The leading lady is yet to be finalised. Siva Karthikeyan's upcoming projects include Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam, Maan Karate and Swapna Sundari.

Vidyullekha Raman of NEP and TVSK fame is all excited to have signed Vijay's Jilla. She had tweeted, "Happy to announce that I am doing a "different" comic role in JILLA starting Vijay, Kajal & Mohan Lal. Shooting starts shorty!!" Interestingly she is also part of Ajith's upcoming film with Siruthai Siva. Vidyullekha had tweeted, "2013 - Thank you for being good to me so far! 1 yr and I'm doing a Thala and Thalapathy film! Feeling blessed and charged to not let you guys down."

Vijay Antony's Saleem begins with Pooja

Vijay Antony's second film after 'Naan' has been titled 'Saleem'. The film begins today with a formal pooja. Saleem is directed by Nirmalkumar. The film will be produced by Studio 9 Productions, Sri Green Production and Vijay Antony Film Corporation. The Naan actor has also announced his third film 'Thirudan'. The music composition for Thirudan is currently in progress.

Vannakkam Chennai reaches final leg

Vannakkam Chennai starring Priya Anand and Shiva in the lead roles in directed by debutant Kiruthiga Udayanidhi. The film shooting has reached the final schedule. Cinematographer Richard M Nathan had tweeted, "Last schedule of VANAKKAM CHENNAI starts from tomorow. It's time for the farewell. Shooting with Anirudh tommorrow. Technically I'm going to meet him for the first time. Come, let's rock bro!" The audio of the film will be out this month. Movie is produced by Red Giant Movies.

Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam starring Siva Karthikeyan, Sathyaraj and Sridivya is directed by Ponram. Music by Imman. The audio of the film is set to be released on July 14 at Sathyam Cinemas. SRK's last day on the sets of Chennai Express

Chennai Express starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone is directed by Rohit Shetty. The film shooting has been wrapped and the film is set to hit the screens on August 8.
