Vijay Sethupathi and Jayam Ravi to team up!
Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play the lead role along with Jayam Ravi in a film to be directed by SP Jhananathan of 'E' and Peraanmai fame. The director had initially planned to do the film with his heroes Jiiva (E) and Jayam Ravi (Peraanmai) in the lead roles. Since Jiiva is busy with his upcoming projects the director has considered Vijay Sethupathi for the role. Vijay Sethupathi who has heard the script is yet to sign on the dotted line. The lead cast is expected to be finalised soon.
Simbu's next with Pandiraj?
Simbu who is currently shooting for Vaalu is next set to team up with director Pandiraj of 'Pasanga' and 'KBKR' fame. Simbu after hearing the script is said to have agreed to do the film. The film is to be produced by Simbu himself. Interestingly Simbu's brother Kuralarasan will be debuting as music composer for the film. However an official confirmation is awaited on the same.

Fox Star's next with Attakathi Dinesh starts rolling
Cuckoo starring Attakathi Dinesh and newcomer Malavika in lead roles is produced by Fox Star Studios jointly with The Next Big Film productions. The film went on floors yesterday after a formal launch. Directors Lingusamy, Bala and actor Arya were present at the film launch event. The film will be directed by Raju Murugan, a popular columnist in a leading Tamil weekly and a former assitant of director Lingusamy. Music by Santhosh Narayanan of Soodhu Kavvum fame.
Mayandi Kudumbathar director passes away
Director Rasu Madhuravan who had directed films like Poomagal Oorvalam, Maayandi Kudumbathaar, Gori Palayam, Muthukku Muthaaga, Paandi Oli Perukki Nilayam passed away in Chennai today. The 44 year old director died of cancer. Rasu Madhuravan's upcoming film 'Sogusu Perundhu Nilayam' is in the verge of completion. Our deepest condolences to his family.
Gautham Menon does it Aaranya Kaandam director
Gautham Menon will be directing 'Aaranya Kaandam' fame Thiyagarajan Kumararaja's script in 'X'. 'X' is a project by ten independent filmmakers. Each of them will write and direct individual segments of the film. Thiyagarajan Kumararaja who has finished the script couldn't direct his segment as he is held up with other commitments. Gautham Menon had readily agreed to direct Kumaraja's episode based on his script. He has started shooting in Pondicherry for 'X'.
The film is about a young filmmaker, who is reminded about his past relationships (10 girlfriends) by a young mysterious girl. Abhinav Shiv Tiwari, Anu Menon, Hemant Gaba, Pratim D. Gupta, Q, Raja Sen, Rajshree Ojha, Sandeep Mohan, Sudhish Kamath, Suparn Verma and Gautham Menon will be directing the film. Writer-director K (Rajat Kapoor) plays the lead role.
