Tamil audience in the UK who eagerly caught on the early shows of Vijay's latest release Bigil have risen against a movie theater which apparently cut scenes from the movie on its own. Despite listing Bigil run time as 176 minutes (2 hours and 56 minutes), Cineworld has been accused of reducing it s run time to 2 hours and 20 minutes throughout different show-times.
Angry fans have now taken to social media to pile up the complaints since their concern was not addressed inn person. Here are some of their tweets:
@cineworld run time mentioned as 176ms but most of the scenes were cut, started ard 8.40 PM and end ard 11.20, in between 10 mins interval. If censor didn't allow those scenes then why 176 mins mentioned? Money wasted :( bad experience again in #ipswich cineworld #Bigil pic.twitter.com/axzUxJVqEu

The movie started at 5.05PM and finished at 7.40PM including interval break, how is it possible for a 177 minute movie to finish earlier than its duration. The story barely made any sense due to the cuts and worst of all! @cineworld #cineworld

#Cineworld needs to investigate this complaint and also make other future customers aware of its cuts of scenes. @cineworld

I was so excited to watch Bigil with the family @cineworld but I swear it felt like half the storyline was cut due them cutting all the fight scenes. So many unanswered questions. What a waste of time! 😡

Totally unfair that #Bigil is having to many cuts in uk for first week but there’s a uncut version for second week. It makes no sense at all. It’s Diwali this week not next week. This is not the way we want to celebrate our festival @tamil_uk_cinema @kollyempire @cineworld @BBFC

Cineworld should have screened two different screens for bigil, the cut scenes ruined the flow of the movie

While the complaints vary between blaming the UK distributors and the theater owners for not informing about the cuts, these people have also reached out to AGS Productions and director Atlee for inquiring if the action scenes were removed as a part of the UK censor board cuts.
