The first look poster of Sanga Thalaivan featuring Samuthirkani in the lead was unveiled today and the Vetrimaaran produced film had two poster releases as a part of it. Manimaran, director of films like Udhayam NH4, Poriyalan and Pugazh has helmed this movie and has Karunas in a pivotal character. 

“The story, which is set in the areas of Salem, Erode and Tirupur, will focus on the lives of handloom weavers and the struggles they face in the current situation. The weavers have their separate union and Samuthirakani essays the role of a union leader in the movie", the director had said of the film at the time of its launch. VJ Ramya plays female lead in this movie which is based on a Tamil novel titled ‘Thariyudan’.
