The pre-release event of this film was held today (July 23) herein Chennai. Here are some of the excerpts from the occasion.
Cinematographer Gopi said, “The basic story and screenplay written by Johnson is so neat and entertaining. The film will have entertainment quotients right from the beginning till end and there is no doubt about it. Working with Santhosh Narayanan brother for the first time is indeed a pleasure to me.”
Stunt Master Hari Dinesh said, “I am grateful to director Johnson for giving an opportunity to be a part of this film. Santhanam sir movies usually have unique styled action choreography and A1 will have the same specialty here as well.”
SP Choudary said, “When Santhanam sir screened me the film, I was completely enthralled with the way it has come out in entertaining manner. I sincerely thank Santhanam sir for giving me the opportunity to release the movie.”
Music director Santhosh Narayanan said, “I am not sure none other than Santhanam sir here can talk humorously on this stage as he is the ultimate rib-tickler. Johnson’s writing is so brilliant and this remains to be my favourite film after Soodhu Kavvum. The film emphasizing on the theme of equality aren’t seen often on big screens and A1 is one such film that is depicted in a humorous package. It’s really difficult for a comedian to sustain his stature and entertain audience over the long run. Santhanam sir is really gifted to possess that talent. I am easily sense that there is a great happiness within the film’s producer as he is confident about the film’s success. There have been some controversies involving the scenes in teaser, but the main theme of A1 is completely in contrast to what is assumed.”
Actress Tara said, “I am really happy and feel great to be a part of this film. I thank Santhanam sir, producer and director Johnson sir for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this film. Working with Santhosh Narayanan sir is indeed a pleasure to me.”
Director Johnson said, “First and foremost, I would like to thank producer Raj Narayanan sir. Initially, Santhanam sir asked me to narrate the story to his team and I was literally nervous during those moments. However soon after hearing the script, they were so much happy and congratulated me. We instantly started working on the film and opted for a fresh face to play the female lead as we couldn’t afford the call sheet of leading actresses. During the first stage of shooting, Santhanam sir would often come and check the monitor after each shot. Surprisingly, he stopped doing so after few days and it was then, I got to know that he has now started trusting me completely. Art director Raja has done a brilliant job and Leo John Paul’s editing is awesome. I think he is an ex-gangster as he keeps chopping down many scenes. When we narrate a scene to Gopi sir, he would absolutely give us back a beautiful frame. Every artiste in the film has done a good job and Santhanam deserves special mention for giving good screen time for every actor in the movie.
Actor Santhanam said, “I am extremely happy about the support and love that everyone extended, thereby making my previous film “Dhillukku Dhuddu 2” a good hit. Making my debut in 2000 and to retain a long run is only because of my team. I am really happy to see that Johnson has become a director and Raj, a producer who belong to my team. Just as the saying goes, don’t judge book by its cover, don’t assume your own looking at Johnson. He is a smart chap who hails from the backdrops of Vyasarpadi in Chennai. The film belongs to the same panache of Soodhu Kavvum and Santhosh Narayanan’s arrival changed the colour of this film. He instantly agreed to be a part of this film after hearing the script. I am really thankful to Santhanam sir for showing me beautifully without using any artificial lights. Art Director Raja has exerted a remarkable effort. We were looking out for an actress, who would befittingly suit the role of a Brahmin girl and Tara exactly delivered what we looked up for. I humbly request my fans to watch the movie in theatres as this movie is produced by newcomers and only with your encouragement, they can continue to produce more movies.”
