Sacred Games, which is a popular Netflix series starring Saif Ali Khan in the lead is returning for Season 2 and the streaming platform confirmed the second innings' premiere date to be August 15, 2019. Based on Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel, Sacred Games starred Saif Ali Khan as a troubled inspector Sartaj and Nawazzudin Siddiqui as his nemesis Ganesh Gaitonde. 

Season 1 chronicled the events that followed when Sartaj is tipped off by Gaitonde to save the city of Mumbai within 25 days. In Season 2, the plot is shifting to Kenya with Gaitonde trying seek refuge there and becoming a crime-lord.

Pankaj Tripathi as Khana Guruji, Kalki Koechlin as Batya Abekmana and Ranveer Shorey as Shahid Khan are also making a return in Season 2 along with writers Vikramaditya Motwane and Varun Grover. Director Anurag Kashyap will continue helming Siddiqui's track, while Neeraj Ghaywan will take over Saif Ali Khan's portions.
