The Telugu title of Suriya's upcoming film Kaappaan directed by KV Anand was unveiled by ace director SS Rajamouli on his Twitter page. The film has been titled Bandobast in Telugu. SS Rajamouli who also released the first look poster of the Telugu version tweeted, "Happy to release the First Look of @Suriya_offl & @Mohanlal sir’s #Bandobast. Best wishes to @anavenkat & his entire team..:)"

Mohanlal plays the role of a Prime Minister while Suriya essays the role of a first rank SPG (Special Protection Group) officer in the film. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film touted to be an action thriller has music by Harris Jayaraj. Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani, Arya, Boman Irani, Mayilsamy are also part of the cast. According to sources, the film is likely to hit the screens on August 30.
