The Tamil Nadu Theater and Multiplex Owners' Association have come up with a new model for streamlining the revenue between a theater owner and a distributor better and they have proposed a segregation of revenue sharing, based on the star value of an actor.
For instance, the new revenue sharing model puts Rajinikanth, Ajith and Vijay in Tier 1 where as popular names like Suriya, Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi among other actors are in Tier 2.
The association seems to have come up with this new model post a meeting held among them on the by gone Friday (May 24, 2019) and they have listed their intended percentage of revenue between them and the distributors as follows:
